Flooring Installation Considerations for Boise Homes

Boise housing is mixed eras, and that is the flooring story. The North End and Hyde Park are 1890s to 1920s streetcar lots. Wood lath upstairs does not change the deck, but the joists and the mixed patches do. A production click-lock that worked on a south Meridian pour can still fail here if the plywood bounces or the rooms are not square.

The Bench is postwar. Lower lids, more mastic, more leftover sheet. Popcorn on the ceiling is a different trade. The floor is often a scrape then a rigid plank. Warm Springs and the foothills grades change carry distance. Boxes do not roll off a trailer into a cul-de-sac. They go up a drive.

Historic overlay on a North End remodel can add a review step that a Bench ranch never sees. We follow that order. Picture rail and 9- or 10-foot rooms add staging, not a different mill family. Truss-uplift cracks are a drywall story. Settlement and deferred maintenance are the floor story. Galvanized lines above a stain still mean the leak dies before new plank. We pull wet pad.
